Fortuna High's Pill Drop gets 51 lbs. of prescription drugs off our streets May 21.
Officer Charles Ellebrecht and the Fortuna Police Department, Mary Stewart, Dr. Buzz Rigney, and Dr. Ray Jones helped Gabe Bennett, Clint Duey, Noe, and Mrs. Farnham's class set it up and get the word out.
Fortuna High School District and Fortuna Police Department teamed up to help stamp out prescription drug abuse and water contamination by collecting unused prescription drugs from the community. Community members turned in an enourmous 51 Pounds of prescription drugs which included numerous narcotics such as oxycodone, lidocaine, and codeine. People are urged to not flush their old meds or leave them on their shelves for others to use and abuse. Prescription drug overdoses kill more people than all the other street drugs combined. Special thanks goes out to Green's Pharmacy, the Fausone family, Humboldt Waste Managment, and Redwood Memorial for getting the word out and participating in the event. Stay tuned for the next Pill Drop coming to the area.

I am reading a book about French doctors, and how our healthcare and all that work in France . (Leo Urgencies)

My favorite book is Into the Wild.
What is the book about?
It’s a book about a young man who suddenly decides to give up everything and leaves for an Alaskan adventure, in order to get away from society.
Why do you like it?
I like it because it inspires me, I like how the character sticks with his beliefs and what he thinks is right, no matter what.
What is your favorite series?
I don’t really like series because I find it boring to always read about the same characters, but I have to say that I enjoyed Harry Potter when I was younger.
